The ATP 250 tournament promises to be a high-level competition, with the presence of some of the world's top names. The tournament's top six seeds are all players in the ATP Top 50, guaranteeing an exceptional field.

Tennis fans will enjoy the presence of three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka, Roberto Bautista Agut, a player who has reached the Top 10 in the world in his career and known for his solid clay court play, Sebastián Báez, known for his aggressive game and Marton Fucsovics, the reigning champion, who returns to Bucharest to defend his title.
"We are delighted to announce an exceptional field of players for the 2025 edition of the Țiriac Open presented by UniCredit Bank. We have an extraordinary mix of experience, talent and spectacle, which promises matches of the highest quality. We are sure that the Romanian public will witness some memorable matches on the courts of the National Tennis Center, and in the coming days we will announce the other two Wild Card holders", said Cosmin Hodor, tournament director.

Sebastián Báez - main favorite

Sebastián Báez comes to Bucharest as the No. 1 favorite and winner of last week's ATP 500 Rio Open, where he defeated France's Alexandre Müller 6-2, 6-3. The Argentine has established himself as one of the best clay-court players of the new generation. In 2024, he also triumphed at the Rio Open, reaching his best ranking of 18th ATP. With an aggressive style of play, excellent movement and enviable consistency, Báez is a formidable opponent on his favorite surface.

Stan Wawrinka - "Stan the Man"

Stan Wawrinka is one of the most successful players of his generation and this year's Wild Card holder. The Swiss has won three Grand Slam titles - Australian Open (2014), Roland Garros (2015) and US Open (2016) - defeating Big Four players in the finals. He was ranked as high as No. 3 ATP in 2014 and played a key role in Switzerland's 2014 Davis Cup victory alongside Roger Federer. Throughout his career, Wawrinka has won 16 ATP titles, distinguished by a powerful baseline game and a one-handed backhand considered one of the most spectacular on the circuit.

Roberto Bautista Agut - consistency and determination

Roberto Bautista Agut is one of the most consistent players on the ATP circuit. The Spaniard has been ranked as high as No. 9 on the ATP and has 11 ATP titles to his name. His best result in a Grand Slam tournament was reaching the semi-finals at Wimbledon 2019, where he was defeated by Novak Djokovic. He is known for his disciplined style of play, excellent court movement and ability to stay competitive in long rallies, especially on clay.
The full list of players in the singles main draw includes players in the ATP Top 100, along with players who have received wild cards. In addition, the qualifying draw will provide an extra spectacle, where 16 players will compete for the last four available main draw spots.
