For Navone, the victory carries special meaning: it is his first ATP title, won right here in Bucharest, two years after the final he lost on the same courts in 2024.

The final was a closely contested affair. The Argentine started stronger, taking the first set, but Merida fought back to level the match, reaffirming the excellent form he had shown throughout the tournament. The deciding set was tense, ultimately settled by Navone's experience and composure in the key moments.

At the end of the match, the Argentine spoke about what the moment meant to him: "Thank you all for coming. This is my first title. I am very happy. It was incredible. Daniel is a very good player."

Navone's triumph comes at the end of an intense tournament run, which included a marathon semifinal - one of the longest of the entire edition - in which he saved match points to reach the final.

On the other side of the net, Daniel Merida completes a remarkable run. The Spaniard, who entered the draw through qualifying, won six matches in Bucharest and reached the first ATP final of his career, only his second tournament at this level.

At just 21 years old, Merida confirms his status as a rising player and came agonisingly close to a historic achievement: he could have become one of the rare qualifiers to win an ATP title and would have broken into the world Top 100 for the first time.

Tournament winner Navone leaves Bucharest not only with the trophy, but also with 250 ATP ranking points and a prize of over €93,000 - the most significant result of his career to date.

Finalist Merida takes home 165 ATP points and a prize of over €54,000, rounding off an outstanding week.
